I'm torn
There are things about this book that I approve of and there are things that I just don't.
I kinda like the plot of this story. A Brit and a guy from Alabama? Interesting. It has promise and it's new to me. The story is mysterious, funny, dramatic, cheesy and sweet at time.
DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T LIKE SPOILERS
The characters however, were pretty much weird for me. I know where they were coming from, but I still felt that something was off about them.
Molly, the Brit girl is lonely. She is indeed VERY VERY LONELY. She's got no parents anymore and no other relatives. She ventures to Alabama and then she meets this hot quarterback who has slept with every girl in the area. At first, I thought Romeo is just a normal jock. However, after a few pages into this book, I found out that Romeo is far from the normal jock. He's also deeply lonely and has angst the size of a moon. He also likes control... LIKE A LOT. This is shown in their intimate scenes. It's weird, albeit hot. What's weirder (for me) is that Molly agrees readily. They friggin complement each other.
The twist near the end is good. It gave the story more depth. I like how they got back together. I like the meaning of the story itself... That it's not the place that makes a home, but the people you value. :)
All in all, I think this is a good read. However, it's not for everyone.
